Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- What makes your chocolate so good?
We combine premium American and European chocolates to create a smooth and sophisticated blend. We also make our products in small batches to ensure freshness and quality. Often what is commercially available was made six months to one year before it arrives on store shelves.
- How is your Nutcorn different from other caramel popcorns?
Again, fresh products make a difference. For our famous Nutcorn we pop our popcorn daily. Then it's coated in homemade caramel using real butter, cane sugar and local honey. Freshly roasted nuts are added and finally a trio of chocolate is drizzled over the top.
- What’s the deal with putting salt on chocolate?
Many of our products (Salty Turtles, The Salty Bar, Caramel Waves) use a sprinkling of Organic Sea Salt to balance the sweetness of the caramel, creating a great savory and sweet experience.
- Is white chocolate considered chocolate?
No. True chocolate must contain ″cocoa solids″ or ″cocoa mass″. Our white chocolate contains cocoa butter, cane sugar, milk powder, vanilla. It is delicious, smooth and creamy, but not truly chocolate.
- What is Soy Lecithin?
It is extracted from soybean oil and used as a natural emulsifier or stabilizer in food. Basically, it helps keep the chocolate smooth.
- Allergies and Dietary Issues:
Our Allergy Alert is ″Produced on shared equipment with PEANUTS, TREE NUTS, WHEAT, SOY, and MILK products.″
At this time, we do not have the ability to dedicate machinery to accommodate Kosher, Vegan, Gluten-free, Nut-free, or Sugar Free products. We make every effort to clearly label all of our packaging.
- What is a chocolatier?
A French term for a chocolate maker; seller of chocolate. It’s pronounced ″show-cla-tea-yeah″ (not like musketeer!)
- What’s the best way to store chocolate at home?
The 2 big no-no’s are not in your car and not in your fridge. Since our chocolates are freshly made, they will keep for 3 months in a cool dry place. Never store in the refrigerator because chocolate doesn’t like moisture and humidity. But freezing is OK. To freeze for future use, double wrap in a zipper freezer bag and a brown paper bag. Thaw at room temperature for at least 8 hours before opening the bag.
